When tasked with executing the spatial transformation for the United States’ 250th-anniversary celebration, Drape Empire delivered diplomatic-grade production under exceptional time constraints. By leveraging existing resources and expertise from previous high-level government summits, our team successfully conceptualized, manufactured, and installed complex staging and backdrops at Marina Bay Sands in under two weeks.

The Brief & Inherent Challenges

The US Embassy required a highly specialized environment that perfectly reflected their national identity and matched the prestige of a historic milestone.

  • Strict Color Matching: Absolute precision was required to match the exact red, white, and blue hues of the American flag.

  • Bespoke Design Elements: The design mandated extensive stage drapery featuring intricate scallop styling, alongside a massive, heavily styled photo-taking zone.

  • Aggressive Timeline: We were given a sub-14-day window from the initial concept briefing to the final, on-site setup.

Strategic Execution

The primary hurdle was sourcing exact fabric color matches within days—a process that typically takes weeks. We overcame this by tapping into our specialized, event-ready material arsenal.

  • Diplomatic-Grade Inventory: We utilized the exact, verified fabric color matches previously deployed by our team for official state visits, including those of Vice President Kamala Harris and President Donald Trump.

  • Rapid In-House Manufacturing: Bypassing the lengthy procurement phase allowed our operations team to focus entirely on the bespoke manufacturing of the scallop styles and structural framework.

  • Seamless Installation: Our experienced rigging crew executed the final setup efficiently, navigating the strict logistical and security parameters of Marina Bay Sands.

Project Outcomes

The execution was a resounding success, demonstrating our unique capability to handle complex, high-stakes event production without compromising on aesthetic quality.

  • Flawless On-Time Delivery: The spatial transformation was completed within the tight timeline, ready for diplomatic review.

  • Proven Capability: The seamless project flow stands as a testament to our material readiness, design agility, and capacity to deliver international-level deployments under immense pressure.

KABUKI REVEAL

Project: Automotive Launch

Client: High profile

Lead Production: Drape Empire Pte Ltd

Pioneering a Glass-Mounted Kabuki Reveal for a Prestigious Automotive Launch

A high-profile client required a spectacular building launch to unveil their new lineup of cars housed within a newly constructed facility in Singapore. The centerpiece of this launch was a large-scale Kabuki drop designed to conceal the interior and drop flawlessly on cue, creating a dramatic reveal for the guests.

The Challenge

This project presented two significant, competing challenges that required bespoke engineering and material sourcing:

  • Complex Structural Constraints: The building's facade featured a curved glass skeleton. The Kabuki mechanisms had to be mounted safely directly onto this glass-holding framework without damaging the architecture or risking structural failure.

  • Custom Fabric Requirements: The drape material had to walk a fine line. It needed to be lightweight enough to adhere to the strict load-bearing limits of the glass mounting, yet opaque enough to completely conceal the cars inside. Furthermore, the material had to exude a luscious, premium feel fitting for a prestigious automotive brand.

The Drape Empire Solution

Working in lockstep with the main client, the team developed a custom rigging strategy tailored to the unique glass architecture.

  • Collaborative Engineering: We designed a specialized, non-destructive mounting solution capable of securing the Kabuki solenoid units directly to the glass panels and structural skeleton.

  • Rigorous Pre-Testing: Safety was paramount. We conducted intensive, on-site load pre-tests, suspending the combined weight of the Kabuki system and the custom fabric for 24 to 48 hours to ensure zero slippage or structural strain before the live event.

  • Bespoke Drapery: We sourced and fabricated a custom drape that perfectly balanced the weight restrictions with the required opacity and luxurious aesthetic.

The Outcome

The launch was a roaring success. The reveal executed flawlessly, dropping perfectly on cue to showcase the vehicles inside. This highly technical installation stands as a milestone, believed to be the first time in Singapore that a Kabuki system of this scale has been successfully and safely mounted entirely on glass panels.

This project perfectly encapsulates our core philosophy: combining deep technical knowledge with close client collaboration to deliver safe, unprecedented, and unforgettable event productions.
